Professional Service
Mr. Cronk, in his 36th year as a real estate professional serves as President/CEO of Poe & Cronk Real Estate Group, a full-service Commercial-Industrial real estate firm. The firm co-founded by Mr. Cronk in 1987 is known for its accomplishments in serving the needs of clients in the Sale, Leasing, Management and Development of Commercial, Industrial, and Retail properties. Mr. Cronk's personal experience also includes serving as a Consultant and Developer in analyzing the appropriate use and reuse of properties. This includes Commercial, Industrial and Residential projects. Since entering the real estate Profession, Mr. Cronk has continuously served a wide range of clients and customers including Fortune 100 companies, small family owned businesses and individuals in providing professional services.
Mr. Cronk has consistently been recognized with industry awards for his sales and leasing volume which has always been at the highest level of his profession. Mr. Cronk's professional service includes leadership roles with numerous organizations and industry groups, including service on the following boards; National Real Estate Roundtable, the National Housing Coalition, and the US-China Residential Building Council and the Board of Directors of the National Association of REALTORS® 1981 to present.
Education Accomplishments
Following successful completion of required educational programs and acquisition of required volume of professional experience, Mr. Cronk was awarded professional designations representing various disciplines within the real estate profession. These designations include Certified Commercial-Investment Member (CCIM) - 1986, Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) - 1999, and Counselor of Real Estate (CRE) - 1998.
In 2010, Governor of Virginia appointed Mr. Cronk to a four year term on the Board of Trustees of the Roanoke Higher Education Authority. He is the Immediate Past Chairman of the Virginia Western Community College Board of Directors where he continues to serve as a member of the Board. His educational accomplishes also include a Business degree from Virginia Western Community College in 1972. In 2009 he was the recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award recognized as an alumnus who has attained extraordinary distinction in his professional field.
Mr. Cronk received his Virginia Real Estate Salesman's license in 1974. In 1975, Mr. Cronk received his Virginia Real Estate Broker's license and certification by the Virginia Real Estate Board as a Real Estate Instructor for the course work required for individuals to obtain their Salesperson and Broker real estate license. In addition to serving as a Real Estate Instructor, Mr. Cronk has lectured on many real estate topics throughout the United States, North and South America, Asia, and Europe on the real estate industry, Real Estate Business Practices, the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
Consulting and Expert Witness
Mr. Cronk is one of nearly 1,000 practitioners throughout the world who have been awarded the Counselor of Real Estate Professional Designation (CRE), denoting the highest recognition to those who provide real estate consulting services. Individual Consulting assignments include service to municipalities, corporations and individual investors as a Fee Consultant providing guidance on optimizing real estate portfolios, real estate developments, achieving long-range investment goals, program and project management, and investment decision-making on Real Estate acquisitions and dispositions. Mr. Cronk has been retained on multiple occasions to provide Expert Witness testimony on matters related to his expertise. All assignments to date have lead to positive outcomes for his clients.
Industry Service
Mr. Cronk served as the 2000 President of the National Association of REALTORS®, the world's largest trade association with a current membership in excess of 1.2 Million. He is also a former President of the Roanoke Valley Association of REALTORS®, Virginia Associations of REALTORS®, and the Virginia Real Estate Education Foundation. In 1994, he was named Virginia "REALTOR® of the Year." In 1984, Cronk was the recipient of the Roanoke "REALTOR® of the Year" award. In March 2007, Cronk was inducted into the Real Estate Hall of Fame by the Virginia Association of REALTORS®, and in 2009 he was inducted by the National Association of REALTORS® into the RPAC Hall of Fame for his extraordinary contributions to the real estate profession.
Mr. Cronk served the National Association of REALTORS® in a wide range of leadership positions including his role in 1996 as the leader of the association's negotiating team formed to rescue the Realtors Information Network (RIN), and develop its primary asset REALTOR.COM. This resulted in the formation of RealSelect, Inc. and Homestore.com to operate, develop, expand, and promote the association's official internet website at WWW.REALTOR.COM. Cronk served as founding member of the RealSelect, Inc. Board of Directors from 1996 - 2000 and worked closely with management in building the company including and the launch of its successful IPO in November 1999. The Company today trades on the NASDAQ as ("MOVE") and continues to serve the real estate industry as the #1 real estate internet website.

Public Service
Following his service as Chairman of the City of Roanoke Economic Development Authority and as the Chairman of the Virginia Western Community College Board of Directors, he received an appointment from the Governor of Virginia to serve a 4 year term on the Board of Trustees of the Roanoke Higher Education Authority. He is also former member of the Board of Directors of the Roanoke Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Virginia Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Mr. Cronk has appeared on numerous television shows, including ABC's Good Morning America, NBC's Nightly News, and CBS and CNN networks addressing the state of the Real Estate Industry and the Profession. In the spring of 1999, He served as chairman of an international trade delegation to the People's Republic of China on behalf of the National Committee on U.S., China Relations and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the U.S. Department of State. The trade mission provided the venue for Mr. Cronk to teach aspiring real estate professionals and government officials in the emerging Chinese real estate market how to sale, lease, manage and develop real estate. Cronk subsequently received an appointment by the President of the United States to serve as a member of the US-China Residential Building Council.
