Milan Tobacconists Relocating Their 96-Year-Old Business in Historic Downtown Roanoke

ROANOKE, VA - July 1, 2008 - Poe & Cronk Real Estate Group and Milan Tobacconists today announced the relocation of Milan Tobacconists to 309 South Jefferson Street.
"We are committed to the continued revitalization of Downtown Roanoke and believe the purchase of the 309 South Jefferson Street Building, just blocks away from the tobacco shop's long time location, reflects this commitment," according to the owners David and Renee Meyer.
Ownership will also allow the Meyers more flexibility and control over the direction of the tobacco shop, which offers a wide variety of premium cigars, pipes, pipe tobacco, and smoking accessories locally and globally through its website and mail order business.
The 309 South Jefferson Building retail space previously accommodated Lee & Edwards Wine Shop on the first floor, is well-suited for the 96-year-old tobacco shop, a historical icon itself. The Meyers are currently renovating the building and targeting August 1st for the relocation, anticipating no interruption in service to their clientele. Plans for a members-only smoking club on the second floor of the building are also in the works and will include private humidified lockers, a big screen television and more.
