Long-Term Lease Signed by Commonwealth of Virginia for New DMV Customer Service Center
DMV Roanoke Office to Relocate to Valleypointe Office Park in 2009
ROANOKE, VA - August 15, 2008 - Lease signed by Commonwealth of Virginia for the new Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Customer Service Center. "Under the terms of the 15 year lease, Roanoke Developer, Steven Strauss of ARS Properties, LLC will develop and lease the new DMV Customer Service Center on a 2.92 acre site in Valleypointe Business Park" according to Dennis Cronk of Poe and Cronk Real Estate Group who represented the developer.
Mr. Strauss stated "The new Customer Service Center will provide the DMV with a custom designed facility with approximately 15,300 square feet and 145 parking spaces, replacing its existing Customer Service Center in Crossroads Mall".
The new DMV Customer Service Center will be located at the intersection of Valleypark Drive at Peters Creek Road near the Roanoke Valley’s first multi-generational recreation center. A $30 million facility under construction by the County of Roanoke for recreational opportunities, programs and meeting space for the community.
According to Strauss, "Structures Design/Build will serve as the General Contractor and construction has commenced with as anticipated completion date of August 2009".
